How to build a restaurant website with AI (menu, hours and ordering)

By the ReasonateAI team ·

Hungry customers look up a restaurant on their phone and decide in seconds. A good restaurant website answers four questions fast: what is on the menu, how much it costs, when you are open and where you are. Here is how to build one with AI, including a prompt you can copy.

What every restaurant website needs

  • A clear menu with prices, grouped into sections such as starters, mains, desserts and drinks.
  • Opening hours, including weekly holidays.
  • Address with a map link and a "Get directions" button.
  • A phone number that can be tapped to call, and a WhatsApp link if you use it.
  • A way to order or reserve: links to your delivery partners, a reservation form or a call button.
  • Photos of your food and space, kept light so the page loads fast on mobile data.

A prompt you can copy

"Build a mobile-first website for Spice Route, a family restaurant in Jaipur serving North Indian and Rajasthani food. Sections: hero with the restaurant name, tagline and two buttons (Order online, Reserve a table); menu with categories Starters, Main course, Breads, Desserts, Beverages, each item with name, short description, price in rupees and a veg/non-veg mark; opening hours (12 pm to 11 pm, closed Tuesdays); location with an embedded map and a Get directions button; customer reviews; and a footer with phone, WhatsApp and Instagram links. Style: warm colours, deep red and gold accents, elegant serif headings."

Replace the name, dishes and timings with your own. The more real menu items you include, the less you will need to edit afterwards.

Refining it

  • "Add a sticky Call now button on mobile."
  • "Show a Today's special banner at the top."
  • "Make the menu searchable" or "add tabs for each menu category".
  • "Add a section for party orders and catering with an enquiry form."

Mistakes to avoid

  • Uploading your menu only as a photo or PDF. Text menus are easier to read on phones and are understood by search engines.
  • Forgetting holiday hours, or letting old prices stay online.
  • Very large photos that make the page slow on mobile data.
  • Hiding the phone number. It should be one tap away on every page.

Help people find you on Google

Put your restaurant name, area and cuisine in the page title and first heading, for example "Spice Route, Rajasthani restaurant in Jaipur". Use the same name, address and phone number as on your Google Business Profile, and link the two.
